The Scandinavian Journal of Laboratory Animal Science is an international journal covering all aspects of laboratory animal science.

Categories of papers
The Journal will publish manuscripts in the following categories:
Original scientific articles. Such reports may be based on an animal experiment, but may as well be the results of epidemiological surveys, case studies, description of theories, etc. The results should not have been published elsewhere, and if this should exceptionally be the case (e.g. as an abstract) this information must be given in the accompanying letter.
Reviews survey recent developments within a relevant area.
Notes are short reports fulfilling the requirements for an original scientific article, but not allowing any general conclusions.
Technical reports give details about one or several specific techniques developed by the author(s) without any scientific conclusions.
Letters are comments on any matter of concern within the field of laboratory animal science.
All original scientific articles, reviews and notes are peer reviewed by at least two external referees. Authors are welcome to suggest referees.

Style and format
The papers should be written in concise and clear English. When quoting parts of books the editor names are given followed by (eds.) and the title of the book, publisher and year. In the text references are quoted, depending on the number of authors, with quotes in brackets written in italics.
